Transformation d’une salle de bain rustique moderne à Entrelacs

Modern rustic bathroom renovation in Entrelacs

Discover this warm and timeless creation by designer Marie-Pier Gagné, where natural stone, organic textures, and nature-inspired materials come together in a secondary residence located in Entrelacs.

Project Overview

For this renovation project, the owners wanted to transform the bathroom of their secondary residence in Entrelacs into a soothing, warm space connected to the natural environment surrounding the property.

The goal was to create a refined modern rustic ambiance, inspired by high-end contemporary chalets, while incorporating durable and timeless materials. Designer Marie-Pier Gagné visited Plancher 2000 to select materials that could bring texture, depth, and authenticity to the space without compromising the project's elegance.

The result is an enveloping bathroom where natural stone, wood, and organic tones create an atmosphere worthy of a contemporary Nordic spa.

The Challenges

One of the main challenges of the project was to find the perfect balance between rustic style and a more modern, clean aesthetic. The clients wanted to retain the warm character typical of a chalet while avoiding a result that was too traditional or visually cluttered.

The choice of materials was therefore essential to create harmonious continuity between the different textures present in the space. Natural stone had to add character without overwhelming the room, while wooden finishes had to maintain a natural and refined appearance.

Integrating several textured materials into the same space also presented a significant challenge. Each selection had to contribute to the overall ambiance while maintaining a coherent and balanced palette.

The Final Choices

For the main bathroom floor, the designer selected the Limestone White 24 x 24 ceramic model, a large-format ceramic inspired by natural stone. Its soft and luminous finish visually expands the space while providing a sober and timeless base for the project.

The wall behind the vanity was created with Limestone White Riga 24 x 48 ceramic, whose linear texture adds immense depth and refinement to the space. This architectural detail provides a subtle interplay of shadows and light that visually enriches the room.

For the shower ceiling and the bath area, the choice of Log Cansei Darsena introduces all the natural warmth of wood while reinforcing the contemporary chalet spirit sought in the project. This material greatly contributes to the enveloping, spa-like ambiance of the bathroom.

The shower floor and bath area were made with Sliced Pebble Truffle Tumbled river stone, a selection that adds texture and authenticity while recalling the natural materials present in the residence's exterior environment.

Finally, the main shower and bath wall was designed with Strasbourg natural stone, which instantly becomes the focal point of the room thanks to its rich and organic texture.

The Result

The final result is a warm, sophisticated bathroom deeply inspired by the surrounding nature. Mineral textures, woody accents, and organic materials create an enveloping ambiance reminiscent of a high-end Nordic spa experience.

The combination of Strasbourg natural stone, river pebbles, and the wood-effect ceramic ceiling adds a lot of character to the space, while the large-format Limestone White balances everything with a more contemporary and luminous touch.

Each material helps create a calm and timeless atmosphere perfectly suited for this secondary residence located in the heart of nature.
